Digital Animals

Digital Animals is a short documentary exploring how digital technologies are being used in animal farming in the United Kingdom and what this digital transformation might mean for people, animals and the environment.

The film presents four case studies of digital technology development along with critical questions about their purpose and potential impacts. With millions of pounds being invested, what is ‘good’ technology?

Written, directed and produced by Sarah Hartley and Tom Law. Co-produced by Hugh Williamson. The film, which also features contributions from A Bigger Conversation, builds on research conducted as part of the research project ‘Responsible Digital Transformation in UK Animal Agriculture’, based at the University of Exeter.
